"To complement the new CX Series updates, two familiar components round out the CX Series 2 range: the highly acclaimed, class-leading CXN (V2) network audio streamer ($1099), and CXC CD transport ($599) are now both finished in a Lunar Grey color to match the CXA61 and CXA81 integrated amplifiers." Probably not but someone else is going to come along and until you do this Roon will be shutting any new service or existing out.Click to expand. No exclusive info here, just read the press releases to see if I should jump on the black CXC now or wait for the new one. Maybe someday Soundcloud will have its own Tidal like window inside Roon. Seems like a good test bed to figure out what streaming services to bake into Roon next. Is their a technical hurdle in Roon’s architecture that make this difficult? I am no software engineer but this seems like a feature that could be easily baked into Roon which would provide a lot more usability for the rest of us. All this talk of number of plays on Soundcloud is irrelevant or a dodge. If you could incorporate this feature what we play and who we pay would remain solely our business. I am not sure what this would technically be called, perhaps a virtual soundcard. Again think Songcast or Play What You Hear. All we need is for the audio on our computers to route through Roon. I am perfectly happy using Soundcloud etc in its own widow. We know this is a core part of your marketing but I feel you are too hung up on it. We do not need Roon to show us fancy pictures of whats playing on Soundcloud. ![]() Tidal is not the place to go to find new music unless of course new music to you is the latest Jay-Z release! What we are interested is your integration of convolution and ability to stream a hi quality signal to DLNA devices like the microrendu. play an essential role in how we find new music. Soundcloud, Mixcloud, Youtube BBC streams etc. I own next to none but I am still interested in using Roon as a central music distribution center. Given our number of users, a solution that stops working at some point every day is not a feature we would want to invest any time in.ĭear Roon we are a generation that owns less and less music. ![]() ![]() Note that the 15k limit is reiterated in the Usage and Quota section of the Terms of Use agreement Their Commercial Use section of the Terms of Use agreement seems to be unclear, but we may fall into the second “unacceptable use” situation. The second problem is that SqueezeCloud and SoundNodeApp are both non-commercial projects, where as Roon is a commercial entity. When the rate limit is reached all users aren’t able to play any song until the end of the current day the limit was reached. Their github repo even has a warning in bold:īe aware that Soundnode relies on Soundcloud API which only allowing third party apps to play 15 thousand tracks daily. Here is a more buttoned up (turn-key) app and they have active complaints that their users are hitting the 15k limit daily. That makes sense since it’s just a github repo and not a turn-key solution. The SqueezeCloud project must not be hitting 15k plays a day (meaning small user base). There already is an opensource integration with Logitech Media server that works quite well.
